The Staffing Manager partners with Service Coordinators to facilitate individual and family services for an assigned caseload of individuals who receive Medicaid Waivered and/or grant-related services as designated in a Plan of Care. The Staff Manager is primarily responsible for providing supervision, training, and scheduling for a team of direct support professionals. The Staff Manager is the primary point of contact for the direct support professionals and promotes high quality services by providing the leadership and the tools necessary for outstanding performance.
Examples of Duties:
- Recruit and hire direct support professionals with the skills and qualities which match the needs and preferences of the individuals on an assigned caseload.
- Provide supervision for assigned direct support professionals including but not limited to:
- Completion of performance reviews
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the Medicaid conditions of participation
- Ensure that assigned direct service professionals complete required training
- Provide coaching and training for team members
- Prepare work schedules for assigned DSPs in accordance with their status.
- Schedule and facilitate staff meetings
- Provide technical assistance and address performance issues
- Provide tools, resources and support
- Process employee-related paperwork in a timely manner
- Turn in employee report of injury forms with HR in a timely manner
- Manage schedule of services for assigned individuals and assigned direct services professionals team and notify human resources of team vacancies.
- Network with other REACH staff managers to share direct support professionals across teams to ensure all direct support professionals are working up to their status each week.
- Promote positive and effective communication and collaboration with all team members.
- Primary point of contact for assigned direct support professionals.
- Mentor direct support professionals in the field to identify skills gaps and ensure quality of services. In addition, create opportunities for career development through effective delegation to and of lead direct support professionals.
- Coordinate on-the-job training for individual staff members and facilitate professional development for assigned team.
- Oversee Medicaid billing documentation in Therap including but not limited to reviewing Therap documentation for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and ensuring notes comply with Therap policies.
- Maintain and promote a positive professional working relationship with all employees.
- Document support and services provided in Therap.
- Provide assistance and back-up to the Service Coordinator as needed.
- Maintain client files to be up to date with all paperwork and documentation.
- Work irregular hours as needed to accommodate the needs of individuals and families.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years of age
- 1 year of supervisory experience
- Driver license and reliable vehicle to be used for work
- Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field.
- The ideal candidate will have experience supervising service providers and working with people that experience developmental disabilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with effective staff supervision and development
- Knowledge of the Medicaid system, disability issues, benefits, programs and practices
- Knowledge of the medical, behavioral, habilitative, and rehabilitative considerations of individuals, and ability to implement services utilizing such knowledge
- Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, precedents and terminology used in the work, client-centered services, knowledge of resources available, applicable state regulations, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Proficiency in the use of computers for word processing, spreadsheets and other applications
- Ability to manage crisis situations using sound judgment
- Ability to organize, evaluate and present information effectively, both orally and in writing, within a prescribed time frame
- Ability to work with professional and support staff
- Strong time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience pertaining to the appropriate handling of confidential and privileged information

This position will work primarily in an office environment requiring a full range of motion including standing, walking, bending, and twisting. This position will spend a significant amount of time using a computer requiring visual acuity, color definition, and dexterity in fingers/hands. This position may at times require employees to transition between interior work spaces including but not limited to exposure to the elements, walking on uneven ground, and the ability to drive a vehicle. May come in contact with blood borne pathogens. Heavy lifting may be required.
